Trinasolar supplies solar and storage project in Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Trinasolar has supplied a 3 MWp solar PV system and a 10 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for a solar-plus-storage project at the Corona Resort in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. Developed by Nam Viet Green Energy JSC, the project is expected to connect to the grid and begin commercial operations in mid-September.

The expansion builds upon an existing 5.5 MWp solar installation by adding Vertex N n-type i-TOPCon modules and an AC-coupled Trina Storage Elementa 2 system. This integration is designed to improve energy cost management, reduce peak electricity demand, and enhance local power supply resilience for the large integrated resort.

The project aligns with Vietnam’s broader energy goals, as the country aims to develop between 10,000 and 16,300 MW of BESS capacity by 2030 to better integrate solar and wind power into the national grid.
