Trinasolar to Supply Solar Modules for New South Wales' First Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Plant

Trinasolar, a global solar and energy‑storage firm, has been contracted to provide its Vertex S+ photovoltaic modules (510 W and 515 W) for the Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia (GEGHA) project near Moree in New South Wales, Australia. The 27 MW solar farm expansion, employing n‑type i‑TOPCon dual‑glass technology, will join the existing 9 MW Wathagar farm to form a 36 MW solar generation capacity supported by a 41 MWh battery energy storage system.

The GEGHA facility is the state’s first green‑hydrogen and low‑carbon ammonia plant. It will house 15 MW of electrolyzers to produce up to 200 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, which will feed a 16‑tonne‑per‑day ammonia plant that can generate up to 4,500 tonnes of low‑carbon ammonia annually. Construction of the solar expansion is underway following state funding of $9.4 million and a financial close announced in July 2025. Edison Zhou, Trinasolar’s head of Australia and New Zealand, said the project demonstrates solar’s role in emerging clean‑energy industries.
