Trindade Atlético Clube goalkeeper Thiago Reis Dias dies at 18

Thiago Reis Dias, an 18-year-old goalkeeper for Trindade Atlético Clube’s under-20 team, has died following an ischemic stroke. The athlete suffered the sudden medical emergency at the team's lodging in Goiânia after participating in morning training.

Dias had been hospitalized at the Hospital Estadual de Urgências Governador Otávio Lage de Siqueira since Sunday. Despite undergoing medical procedures, he succumbed to neurological complications. Originally from Maranhão, the player had joined the Goiás football scene in July and had not yet made an official debut. The club expressed deep mourning for the young athlete.
