Police Constable Rommel Douglas killed in Trinidad shooting
On Tuesday night in Kelly Village, Trinidad and Tobago, Police Constable Rommel Douglas, 48, was shot multiple times while seated in his white Nissan Tiida on Caroni South Bank Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident also involved 19‑year‑old Adetola Ammon, who was shot after attempting to rob Douglas and later died at Arima Health Facility. Police recovered 18 spent 9mm shell casings of various calibers; Douglas’ licensed Sig Sauer P320 pistol was not recovered.
Relatives say Douglas was lured over a money dispute stemming from a car accident and had threatened legal action. His family members, Dianna Andrews and Sonja Douglas, have called for the remaining suspects to receive the death penalty.
