Gallura region hit by series of wildfires

A series of wildfires is impacting the Gallura region in Italy. Fires have broken out in Bortigiadas, Trinità d’Agultu, and most recently in Loiri Porto San Paolo at the C. Melca locality.

The Forestry Corps is managing the response, utilizing helicopters from the Farcana and Limbara bases to combat the flames. Due to the high risk of the fire spreading into forested areas, additional aerial support has been requested to assist in containment operations.

Separately, a road accident occurred on the Trieste Coastal Road near the Grignano intersection involving a van and a scooter. One person sustained injuries and received medical attention from emergency services. Firefighters and local police attended the scene to secure the area and manage traffic flow.
