Tripura achieves zero primary-level dropout rate

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the state has achieved a zero percent dropout rate at the primary school level for the 2025-26 period. Speaking at the International Literacy Day and ULLAS Mela in New Delhi, Saha attributed this success to consistent efforts to strengthen foundational literacy across all primary schools.

To address low enrollment in remote and rural areas, the state government plans to establish state-of-the-art residential schools by merging or clubbing schools with very low enrollment, following the pattern of Eklavya Model Schools.

Since May 2022, Tripura has been implementing the ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) program. The state has introduced several innovative practices for neo-learners, including financial literacy training, experiential market learning to improve numeracy, and practical demonstrations regarding health and hygiene.
