Tripura banks to close August 19 for Maharaja Bir Bikram anniversary

Banks in Tripura will remain closed on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, to observe the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. The holiday applies to all public and private sector banks, including major institutions such as State Bank of India, HDFC, and ICICI Bank.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar, banking services will remain operational in all other Indian states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra. While physical branches in Tripura are closed, digital services like UPI and mobile banking are expected to remain unaffected.
