Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha Calls for Model Schools Amid Opposition Critique of State Services
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha visited Baradowali Higher Secondary School in Agartala, saying he will inspect every government school in the state. He pledged to transform Baradowali into a model institution by improving infrastructure, cleanliness and the overall learning environment, noting the higher salary structure for teachers and the need for quality standards. Saha suggested regular student‑led cleanliness drives and promised to address issues such as students standing in the open sun during assemblies.
Tripura Pradesh Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty criticised the BJP‑led state government, alleging widespread failures in health and education. He highlighted security lapses at GBP Hospital, lack of CCTV, inadequate residential facilities, and long delays for diagnostic reports due to a shortage of specialist doctors. Chakraborty also accused the government of poor implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, citing insufficient classrooms, faculty and vacant teaching posts for four‑year degree programmes.
