Tripura CM directs expedited development of Jolaibari medical college

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has directed officials to expedite the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a proposed medical college in Jolaibari, located in the South Tripura district. The project, part of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), aims to utilize the existing Shantirbazar District Hospital as its foundation. Saha emphasized that the initiative should transform the area into a well-planned township with modern infrastructure, including potential facilities such as a yoga center, auditorium, and sports grounds to support students and medical professionals.

In separate regional developments, the Dharmanagar Press Club and the Tripura Hepatitis Foundation organized a mega health camp at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan. The event provided free medical consultations to over one hundred people, featuring specialist doctors in fields such as urology, nephrology, and gynecology.

Additionally, Chief Minister Saha attended a road safety event at the AD Nagar Police Ground, where he oversaw the distribution of equipment to law enforcement. He highlighted the administration's focus on technology-driven traffic enforcement and modern safety protocols to improve public mobility and reduce accidents across the state.
