Tripura exports first shipment of mustard honey to Dubai

Tripura has completed its first-ever export of mustard honey to Dubai, marking a significant milestone for the state’s agricultural sector. The shipment, consisting of one metric tonne, was facilitated by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and supported by Salt Range Foods Pvt Ltd.

The export was driven by the Dergang Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO). This initiative is expected to provide local beekeepers and farmers with better price realization compared to local markets and encourage the adoption of quality-focused, export-oriented production methods.

Tripura Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath flagged off the consignment, stating that the achievement demonstrates the potential for local agricultural products to reach international markets. The government aims to continue strengthening apiculture and organic agriculture to help farmer collectives access wider global markets.
