Tripura organizations hold elections and political rallies

The Tripura Industries Owners’ Association (TIOA) has elected a new Executive Committee for the 2026–2031 term. The election was conducted unanimously after only one valid panel nomination was received, eliminating the need for polling.

To mark the occasion and the association’s 10th Foundation Day, TIOA will hold a celebration on September 2, 2026, in Bodhjungnagar. The event will include the formal introduction of the new committee alongside community initiatives such as a health and eye check-up camp, a tree plantation program, and the felicitation of meritorious students.

In a separate political development in Agartala, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) held a rally to observe ADC Day. During the event, the party submitted a deputation to the Governor to reiterate its long-standing demand for a separate state for indigenous people to protect their identity and heritage. The rally, attended by party leaders including President Prem Kumar Reang and General Secretary Shukla Charan Noatia, serves as an effort to strengthen the party's organizational presence ahead of upcoming Village Committee elections.
