Tripura to launch Agartala Tea Auction Centre by September

A delegation from the Tripura Tea Development Corporation (TTDC) visited the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC) to study its electronic auction mechanism. The team, led by TTDC Chairman Samir Ranjan Ghosh and Managing Director Er. Rajesh Kumar Das, IAS, was accompanied by Tea Board India Executive Director Arunita Phukan and met with GTAC Secretary Priyanuz Dutta and officials of the Assam Tea Association.

The Agartala Tea Auction Centre is slated to become operational by the end of September. It will adopt GTAC’s best practices to create a transparent, technology‑driven platform for tea produced in Tripura, aiming to improve price discovery, market access and competitiveness for growers and buyers across the Northeastern region.
