Tristan Vukčević to miss start of NBA season with hip injury
Washington Wizards player Tristan Vukčević will miss the start of the 2026/27 NBA season due to a left hip impingement. The 23-year-old Serbian center is expected to miss the entire preseason and the initial games of the regular season.
Vukčević will participate in training sessions on a limited basis while undergoing rehabilitation. A new medical assessment is scheduled in approximately four weeks to determine his recovery progress.
The injury comes as Vukčević faces increased competition for rotation minutes in the Wizards' frontcourt, following the team's additions of players such as Alex Sarr, Anthony Davis, and Deandre Ayton. Vukčević, who previously played for Partizan and Real Madrid, signed a three-year contract worth nine million dollars with Washington.
