Triumf serca film about Saint Maximilian Kolbe returns to cinemas

The film ‘Triumf serca’ (Triumph of the Heart), which depicts the life of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, is scheduled for a special screening on August 16 as part of the ‘Lato z Rafaelem’ series. The film has already reached 200,000 viewers in Poland and is noted as the highest-rated Polish film of 2025 on Filmweb.

Marcin Kwaśny stars as Saint Maximilian Kolbe, the Franciscan priest who died in the Auschwitz concentration camp on August 14, 1941, after volunteering to die in a starvation cell in place of another prisoner. Kwaśny described the role as his greatest acting challenge due to the emotional weight of portraying Kolbe’s final moments and his ability to provide hope to fellow prisoners.

Kwaśny has received accolades for his performance, including a Best Actor award at the International Religious Film Festival in Terni, Italy.
