Türk Eximbank targets $59 billion in export support for 2026

To mark its 39th anniversary, the Turkish Ministry of Trade announced that Türk Eximbank aims to provide $59 billion in credit and insurance support to exporters in 2026. This target represents a significant increase from the $5.6 billion provided in 2001.

The bank currently serves approximately 20,000 customers, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) making up 83% of its portfolio. Notably, 47% of the export credits issued are directed toward high and medium-high technology products.

Türk Eximbank has expanded its operational reach to include 3 regional directorates, 25 branches, and 7 liaison offices, covering provinces responsible for over 90% of Turkey's exports. The bank's equity has grown to 202 billion TL from an initial founding capital of 500,000 TL. New financing mechanisms, including Buyer Credit Programs, green transformation finance, and participation banking models, are being utilized to bolster international competitiveness.
