Türk Telekom outlines digital and green energy strategies in the US
Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin participated in the 19th Turkey Investment Conference and New York Climate Week in the United States to discuss digital infrastructure, technology-driven growth, and sustainability strategies. During the events, Şahin highlighted that the company has invested $24.5 billion in Turkey's digital transformation since 2005.
As part of its commitment to green technology, Türk Telekom will serve as a ‘Master Partner’ and ‘Global Digital Transformation and Technology Partner’ for the upcoming COP31 climate conference, which will be hosted by Turkey. The company will contribute to the technological infrastructure of the event.
In terms of renewable energy, Türk Telekom has launched its Sivas Solar Power Plant (GES) with a capacity of 128 MWp. The company plans to expand its solar energy footprint with additional facilities in Malatya and Ağrı, aiming for a total installed capacity of 530 MWp. These projects are expected to produce 800 GWh of energy annually and prevent approximately 350,000 tons of carbon emissions.
