SHG Airshow celebrates Turkish aviation in Eskişehir
The 11th SHG Airshow was held at the Sivrihisar Aviation Center Necati Artan Facilities in Eskişehir, Turkey. The two-day event featured various aerobatic performances and celebrated Turkish aviation history.
Key highlights included performances by Turkey’s first professional female aerobatic pilot, Semin Öztürk Şener, flying her aircraft ‘Yeni Menekşe’. The event also featured Lee Vecihi Maxson, grandson of Vecihi Hürkuş, performing in a replica aircraft named ‘Vecihi 14’. Additionally, descendants of aviation pioneers Nuri Demirağ and Vecihi Hürkuş attended to witness the flight of replica aircraft, including the Nu. D-36.
The airshow concluded with a grand finale by the Türk Yıldızları (Turkish Stars) aerobatic team, which flew in from the Konya 3rd Main Jet Base to perform synchronized maneuvers for the spectators.
