Türkiye and Japan hold strategic communication summits in Tokyo
The Directorate of Communications of Türkiye and the Turkish Embassy in Tokyo organized the STRATCOM Roundtable and Public Forum in Tokyo, Japan, as part of the International Strategic Communication Summit.
The events focused on the theme of 'The Changing Global Order in the Age of Emerging Technologies' and 'Managing Economic Security in the Age of Geopolitical Competition.' Discussions centered on the multi-dimensional impacts of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, on global governance, strategic communication, digital sovereignty, and information security.
Participants addressed how technological competition and AI influence international power balances, the fight against disinformation, and the transformation of public diplomacy. The forum also examined how intensifying geopolitical competition affects economic security policies, critical technologies, data security, and the transformation of the digital economy.
In a video message, Burhanettin Duran, the Presidential Communications Director, noted that the world is undergoing deep geopolitical, technological, and social transformations. He emphasized that the capacity to shape narratives, manage perceptions, and build trust with global audiences has become a vital dimension of national and international power alongside economic and military strength.
