Türkiye exports to Africa reach $13.3 billion in seven months

Türkiye’s exports to Africa reached $13.3 billion during the first seven months of the year, marking a 12.6% increase compared to the same period last year. In July alone, export volume rose by 16.3% to $2.3 billion.

Key growth markets include Egypt, where exports increased by 26.1% to $2.3 billion, and Nigeria, which saw a 52.1% rise to $453.2 million. South Africa also experienced significant growth, with exports climbing 31.3% to $479 million. Other notable performers include Morocco, with exports reaching $2.43 billion, and Libya, totaling $1.59 billion for the seven-month period.

Osman Aksoy, chairman of the Türkiye-Africa Business Council, attributed this momentum to long-term commercial diplomacy, expanding logistics networks, and increased connectivity via Turkish Airlines, which serves over 60 African destinations. Growth is being driven by sectors such as machinery, electrical products, automobiles, chemicals, textiles, and construction materials. Moving forward, there is a strategic focus on transitioning from direct sales to local joint investments and production within the continent.
