Türkiye granted Joint Observer status in Ibero-American Conference
Türkiye has been granted Joint Observer status within the Ibero-American Conference, an organization that brings together 22 countries from Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. The decision was reached during a meeting of Ibero-American Foreign Ministers held on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week.
The formalization of this status is expected to take place during the 30th Ibero-American Conference Summit, scheduled for November 4-5 in Madrid, Spain. Türkiye's official application was originally submitted on July 3 via a letter from Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to the Secretary-General of the Ibero-American Conference, Andres Allamand.
This new status is intended to deepen Türkiye's political dialogue with member states and expand cooperation opportunities in the fields of trade, culture, and development, supporting its multi-dimensional policy toward the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
