Türkiye İş Bankası Museum sees high summer interest

The Türkiye İş Bankası Museum in Eminönü is experiencing high visitor interest during the summer season. The museum, housed in a historic building originally constructed as a post office in 1892 and used as a bank branch from 1928, has hosted approximately 3.5 million guests since its establishment.

One of the featured exhibitions, ‘Karadeniz Vapuru 100 Yaşında’ (Black Sea Steamer is 100 Years Old), commemorates the 100th anniversary of the vessel's historic journey. Launched from Galata Pier on June 12, 1926, the ship visited 15 ports across 12 European countries over 86 days, serving as a floating exhibition hall and the bank’s first ‘mobile branch’. This specific exhibition is available for free in the Safe Deposit Box Department until August 30.

The museum’s permanent exhibition, ‘İş’in 100 Yılı’ (100 Years of İş), details the bank’s founding, the economic independence goals of the Republic, and the expansion of its branch network. Additionally, the museum offers free summer workshops for children.
