Türkiye İş Bankası Resim Heykel Müzesi updates permanent exhibition

The Türkiye İş Bankası Resim Heykel Müzesi in Beyoğlu has updated its permanent exhibition, ‘Watching Turkish Painting’ (Türk Resmini İzlemek), which spans the museum’s fourth and fifth floors. The collection, built by Türkiye İş Bankası since 1940, features over 2,800 works by more than 1,000 artists.

Key highlights of the renewed exhibition include Osman Hamdi Bey’s ‘The Tortoise Trainer’ and Mihri Hanım’s ‘Self-Portrait’ in the ‘Foundational Stones of the Beginning’ room. Other notable sections include ‘Anatolian Inspirations’ featuring Fahrünnisa Zeid’s ‘Mevleviler’, and the ‘Side by Side’ room, which explores the lives and works of Bedri Rahmi and Eren Eyüboğlu.

The exhibition also includes thematic areas such as ‘Women Artists’, ‘Still Life’, and ‘Landscapes of the Homeland’. The museum is located in the historic Baudouy Apartment on İstiklal Avenue. To celebrate the reopening, the museum is offering free admission throughout the month of September.
