Turkey to accelerate green and digital transformation in textile industry

Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, has announced plans to accelerate the green and digital transformation of the nation’s textile industry. During visits to the Texhibition Istanbul and the ZUCHEX International Home and Kitchenware Fair, Kacır emphasized the importance of increasing technological competence and high value-added production to maintain global competitiveness.

Kacır highlighted that despite global economic challenges, government measures such as the Employment Protection Program, various incentives, and financing opportunities have helped preserve approximately 1.2 million jobs in labor-intensive sectors—including textiles, apparel, leather, and furniture—since the beginning of 2026.

The government aims to continue supporting the industrial sector by enhancing R&D capabilities, improving productivity, and fostering a more competitive, export-oriented manufacturing ecosystem.
