Türkiye Internships Programme begins 2026 term for diaspora engineers

The 2026 term of the Türkiye Internships Programme has commenced, selecting 115 young engineers from the Turkish diaspora to gain professional experience within Türkiye’s defence and technology sectors.

Managed by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the programme drew over 500 applicants. The selected participants are studying fields such as aerospace, software, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering at various international universities. They will undergo internships at prominent Turkish defence companies, including ASELSAN, TUSAŞ, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, and STM.

YTB President Abdulhadi Turus stated that the initiative aims to connect students with Türkiye’s growing technology ecosystem and provide first-hand experience with corporate operations. Beyond technical training, the programme includes cultural activities to introduce participants to Türkiye’s history and heritage. The goal is to allow students to witness the country’s technological advancements directly while fostering professional ties between the diaspora and the domestic industry.
