Türkiye to increase telecommunications budget by 39 percent

Türkiye is planning to increase its information and communication program budget by 39 percent next year, raising it from approximately 23.3 billion lira to over 32.3 billion lira. This investment aims to enhance technological infrastructure and service quality.

As of the second quarter of this year, the country had 102.2 million mobile subscribers. Projections suggest this number will reach 103 million by year-end and climb to 105 million next year, with further growth expected to hit 109 million by 2029. The introduction of 5G technology this year is expected to drive this expansion.

Mobile broadband penetration is also targeted for growth. The rate is expected to be 94 percent this year, rising to 96 percent next year, and reaching 98 percent by 2029. Additionally, Türkiye is expected to maintain its full score in the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index.
