Türkiye Varlık Fonu launches Sustainable Finance Framework

The Türkiye Varlık Fonu (TVF) has released its Sustainable Finance Framework, outlining the institution's approach to sustainable financing. The framework details the use of financing resources, the evaluation and selection of eligible projects, and the processes for management and reporting.

Sustainable Fitch awarded the framework an ‘Excellent’ rating in its Second Party Opinion (SPO). The framework is noted for its alignment with the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) 2025 Green Bond Principles, Social Bond Principles, and Sustainability Bond Guidelines. It also complies with Green and Social Loan Principles from the LMA, LSTA, and APLMA, as well as the International Finance Corporation (IFC) 2025 Blue Finance Guide.

The initiative aims to support investments providing measurable environmental and social benefits, strengthen resilient infrastructure, and diversify access to sustainable financing. This launch precedes Turkey's hosting of the COP31 UN Climate Change Conference and is intended to support the nation's 2053 net-zero emission target and the Zero Waste initiative.
