Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli: New skill-based curriculum evaluated

Doping Hafıza's Scientific and Executive Boards met to evaluate the 'Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli', a new skill-based curriculum implemented by the Ministry of National Education ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Arif Karakuş, Deputy General Manager of Doping Hafıza, emphasized that the model represents a significant paradigm shift. Rather than focusing solely on information acquisition, the curriculum asks, ‘What can you do with what you know?’ It aims to foster 20 integrated conceptual skills, including decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

The evaluation highlighted the impact of artificial intelligence on education. Karakuş noted that as AI accelerates access to information, the ability to question, verify, and ethically use that information becomes more critical than rote memorization. The discussion also referenced the World Economic Forum’s 'Future of Jobs' report, noting that approximately 39% of current core worker skills are expected to change by 2030, necessitating a focus on adaptability, technology literacy, and lifelong learning.
