Türksat satellite transition causes channel issues for Samsung TVs
Following the Türksat satellite transition on August 16, many television users in Turkey have experienced significant frequency and channel adjustment issues. The transition from Türksat 3A to Türksat 4A involved a complete renewal of frequency sequences for national and local channels.
Reports indicate that certain Samsung television models sold in the Turkish market are particularly affected because they lack the Türksat Channel Update System (TKGS) software or hardware integration. While TKGS is a standard in Turkey that allows for automatic channel updates, these specific models cannot automatically pull new data, resulting in black screens and an inability to access basic channels.
Experts suggest that the issue stems from software limitations that prevent manual or automatic frequency updates on certain devices. For consumers facing these problems, it is recommended to contact authorized technical services for software updates or resets. If technical support fails to resolve the issue, particularly for devices under warranty, consumers may have the right to seek recourse through the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
