TÜRKSOY Youth Forum brings 22 nations to Trabzon

The 3rd TÜRKSOY Youth Forum was held in Trabzon, bringing together young participants from 22 different countries to discuss unity, shared history, and a common future within the Turkish world. Organized by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality and TÜRKSOY, the event featured speakers including Trabzon Governor Tahir Şahin, Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, and Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Ankara, Ruslan Kazakbaev.

Former Turkish National Team and Trabzonspor coach Şenol Güneş addressed the youth, sharing personal experiences regarding leadership and resilience. During his talk, Güneş emphasized the importance of developing domestic coaching talent, stating, “We must definitely be able to produce and find our own coaches” for the national team. He also reflected on the 2002 FIFA World Cup third-place finish, noting its significance for Turkey’s international reputation.

As part of the cultural exchange, 140 young participants attended a Trabzonspor football match at Papara Park, where they experienced local traditions such as the horon dance following the team's 2-0 victory over Beşiktaş.
