Trélissac Equestrian Centre Reopens After Safety Upgrade

The Prefect of Dordogne, Marie Aubert, authorized the reopening of the Centre équestre de la Cravache in Trélissac on 7 August, after the facility met all regulatory safety requirements. The centre had been closed administratively on 1 July following a state inspection that identified multiple safety deficiencies, prompting a minimum four‑week suspension. A follow‑up inspection by the Service départemental à la jeunesse, à l’engagement et aux sports (SDJES) on 29 July confirmed that all corrective measures prescribed in the closure order had been fully implemented. Despite a municipal dispute over funding and the mayor, Éric Fallous, proposing a private operator, the centre will now resume activities as an association.

The reopening marks the end of a period of uncertainty for the local equestrian community, which can now resume training and public events under the restored safety standards.
