Trần Ngọc Vàng apologizes for insensitive remarks to colleague

Vietnamese actor Trần Ngọc Vàng has issued a public apology following social media backlash regarding insensitive remarks made during a past talk show appearance. The controversy resurfaced after old video clips were recirculated online.

During the segment, actress Uyển Ân shared a personal experience regarding being bullied at school. In response, Trần Ngọc Vàng made comments attributing her experience to her appearance, specifically stating, “That is because of your looks, dear,” and adding, “Because you are fat, dear.”

Critics condemned the remarks as tactless and insensitive, particularly given the sensitive nature of school violence. In a statement released via his broadcast channel, Trần Ngọc Vàng admitted his behavior was “lacking sophistication, very tactless, and could cause embarrassment or even hurt the people involved.” He noted that he has since messaged his colleagues to apologize and expressed gratitude for their tolerance.
