Trương Minh Huy Vũ elected Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City

On September 21, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council held its fifth session to elect Trương Minh Huy Vũ as the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term. The election received support from 118 out of 120 attending delegates.

Mr. Vũ, born in 1984, holds a PhD in Economics and International Politics from the University of Bonn, Germany. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies and the Chairman of the Executive Body of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC). His professional background includes roles at Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and various research and academic positions.

With this appointment, the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee now consists of Chairman Nguyễn Văn Được and seven Vice Chairmen. This personnel adjustment is part of the city's efforts to strengthen its administration as it pursues economic growth and the development of an international financial center.
