TrofAmbiente launches glass recycling campaign in Trofa

TrofAmbiente has introduced the ‘Rota do Vidro da Trofa’ campaign, an initiative aimed at increasing the collection and correct separation of glass packaging by 20% within the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurants, and cafes) in Trofa. Co-financed by Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV) under the Rede Recicla+ Program, the project builds upon the 866 tons of glass waste collected in the municipality during 2025.

To improve efficiency and address the labor-intensive nature of manual glass disposal, TrofAmbiente is implementing an assisted tipping system. This system utilizes strategic locations equipped with large glass containers featuring automated turning mechanisms. These devices allow establishments to discharge 120-liter containers automatically, streamlining the process for businesses and helping Portugal move closer to European recycling targets.
