Troina residents demand stricter controls over illegal hunting

Residents in Troina are calling for stricter controls and increased oversight following reports of illegal hunting occurring dangerously close to private homes.

According to local reports, hunters are frequently operating within distances that violate Law 157/92, which prohibits hunting within 100 meters of houses, factories, and buildings, and within 50 meters of roads. The proximity of gunfire to residential yards has created significant safety concerns and tension among the community.

In addition to the physical danger to humans, the sudden and close-range shots are causing acute trauma to domestic animals, specifically dogs and cats, as well as local wildlife. Residents are appealing to authorities for more decisive intervention to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to restore peace to the area.
