Trois-Pistoles launches 3 cabanes – 3 Pistoles waterfront art exhibition
The town of Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, opened the "3 cabanes – 3 Pistoles" exhibition on August 2 with a waterfront vernissage from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The installation features three distinct sites: a cabin converted into a white‑ice‑fishing museum displaying historic artifacts, an immersive Mirabolle piece that summons a sea monster, and a monumental work by Geneviève Rioux that turns an entire cabin into a large canvas inspired by the river. The exhibition runs free of charge until October 11 and is supported by the city, the local history and genealogy society, and the Caisse Desjardins des Basques.
In the same region, Galerie Champagne & Paradis opened two solo shows from August 1 to 30. Chloé Giroux‑Bertrand presents "Champ narratif," a series of ten paintings on reclaimed painter’s tarps that evoke the Saint‑Laurent River’s fields and light. Pierre Durette’s "Marécage" displays new drawings of Bas‑Saint‑Laurent wildlife, large drawings from his "Vivarium" collection, and porcelain sculptures, all exploring the fragility and transformation of the natural world. Both artists will meet visitors on the opening day.
These cultural events highlight local artistic talent and the region’s maritime and natural heritage.
