Tropa de Elite 2 named one of the 100 best film sequels by IndieWire

The Brazilian film ‘Tropa de Elite 2: O Inimigo Agora É Outro’, directed by José Padilha and starring Wagner Moura, has been named one of the 100 best film sequels in history by IndieWire. The film holds the 66th position in the ranking, making it the only Brazilian production included in the selection.

IndieWire described the sequel as a reflective work that challenges the original film and its audience by developing the consciousness of its protagonist, Captain Nascimento. The ranking features several global classics, with ‘Magic Mike XXL’ taking the top spot, followed by ‘The Godfather Part II’ in second and ‘2046’ in third. Other notable entries in the list include ‘Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’.
