Tropea named among Italy's 20 best destinations by The Times

The British newspaper The Times has named Tropea as one of the 20 best destinations to visit in Italy. Ranked twelfth in the selection, Tropea serves as the sole representative for the Calabria region.

The publication highlighted Calabria’s natural heritage, including its 800 kilometers of coastline along the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas, mountain ranges, and national parks. The Times noted that while the region has long suffered from a poor reputation, it is currently recovering. Tropea was specifically praised for its ability to maintain a timeless atmosphere where Mediterranean life, local traditions, and the sea intersect.

Calabrian President Roberto Occhiuto welcomed the recognition, stating that Tropea symbolizes the region's coasts and a land that the world continues to discover.
