Trophy Games acquires Playrion from Paradox Interactive
Trophy Games has announced its largest acquisition to date, purchasing the French game developer Playrion from Paradox Interactive. The deal is expected to close on September 30, 2026.
Playrion, a Paris-based studio specializing in aviation simulation and management games, will continue to operate independently. The acquisition includes an upfront cash payment of €2.25 million, plus a deferred consideration equal to 9% of the net revenue generated by Playrion’s games over the three years following the deal.
Trophy Games intends to use the technology from Playrion’s ‘Airport Simulator: First Class’ as a foundation for a new series of simulation games. This follows a successful strategy previously applied to ‘Airline Manager 4’. As a result of the acquisition, Trophy Games has raised its 2026 revenue expectations to a range of €22.8 million to €24.1 million.
For Paradox Interactive, the sale allows the publisher to refocus its efforts on strategy and management games for PC and console, while Playrion remains dedicated to mobile development.
