Tropical waves trigger heavy rainfall across Mexico and Venezuela

Tropical waves are bringing significant weather instability across parts of Latin America. In Venezuela, Inameh reports that Tropical Wave 44, combined with the Intertropical Convergence Zone and a monsoon trough, will cause scattered rains and stormy activity throughout the weekend. Expected rainfall will be concentrated in Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Sucre, the North-Central Coastal Region, and the Central Plains, with stormy conditions predicted for Bolívar, Amazonas, the Western Plains, the Andes, and Zulia.

In Mexico, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) warns that Tropical Waves 33 and 34, alongside the Mexican monsoon, will trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall. Significant precipitation is expected in Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Campeche, Chiapas, and Tabasco. Additionally, the monsoon will affect northwestern states such as Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Durango. While much of the country faces intense rain and electrical discharges, heat waves are expected to persist in the northern regions and the Yucatán Peninsula.
