Tropico 7 announced for release in January 2027

Kalypso Media has announced that Tropico 7, the latest installment in the nation-management simulation series, is scheduled for release in late January 2027. Developed by Gaming Minds Studios, the game will be available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, as well as on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is also expected to be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass.

New features in this entry include a physical terraforming system, allowing players to reshape the island's geography by leveling mountains or reclaiming land from the sea. The game also introduces a new parliamentary system where players must manage various political factions through negotiation or force.

Gameplay remains centered on managing a tropical island nation through different historical eras, from the colonial period to the modern age. Players must balance economic development, infrastructure, and the demands of competing factions to maintain power. The title will feature extensive content, including five campaigns, over ten scenarios, and more than twenty sandbox maps.
