Troy Aikman to face NFL restrictions due to Miami Dolphins advisory role

NFL broadcaster Troy Aikman will face specific restrictions in his role as an ESPN Monday Night Football analyst due to his advisory position with the Miami Dolphins. According to NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy, Aikman will follow similar parameters previously established for Tom Brady regarding his involvement with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Under these rules, Aikman is prohibited from accessing team practice facilities or attending practices in person. Instead, he may attend production meetings virtually and conduct interviews with players and coaches at locations outside of team facilities, such as team hotels.

Aikman, who assisted the Dolphins in their search for a new general manager and head coach earlier this year, stated that he has discussed the arrangement with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has approved his dual role. Aikman noted that the potential for conflict is mitigated by the fact that the Dolphins are not scheduled for Monday Night Football games this season.
