Troy: From Schliemann’s archaeology to cinematic epic

In popular culture, the epic scale of the conflict was brought to modern audiences through Wolfgang Petersen’s film 'Troy', released 21 years ago. The production, which grossed nearly $500 million worldwide, focused on the intense combat and personal duels, most notably the confrontation between Achilles and Hector.
