Troy Jackson holds high-dollar New York fundraiser for Maine Senate bid

Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Troy Jackson is traveling to New York City for a high-dollar fundraiser, with suggested contribution levels reaching as high as $13,500. The event, scheduled for September 23 in Brooklyn, comes as Jackson faces questions regarding his campaign's financial needs despite his platform of fighting billionaires and corporations.

Jackson previously demonstrated significant fundraising momentum, raising over $5.3 million through the ActBlue platform in July. A substantial portion of that total—more than $1.2 million—was secured on July 25, the day he became the official nominee. This July total ranked him third among all U.S. Senate candidates using ActBlue that month.

The Maine Senate race is projected to be a highly competitive contest between Jackson and incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins. While Jackson has seen rapid fundraising growth, Collins reported $11 million in cash on hand as of June 30 and maintains support from outside groups. Recent polling shows a narrow margin between the two candidates.
