Troy man charged with animal neglect after puppy found underweight

Deahvion J. Nobles, 20, has been charged with misdemeanor failure to provide proper sustenance to an animal in Troy, New York. The charges follow an investigation into the neglect of an 8-month-old pitbull-mix puppy named Sage.

On September 9, Troy Animal Control discovered the puppy was significantly underweight and exhibiting symptoms requiring medical treatment. Sage was transported to Capital District Veterinary Hospital for professional care.

While the criminal case proceeds, Sage remains under the care of Troy Animal Control and is not currently available for adoption. The Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office will oversee the prosecution.
