Troy Parrott joins Real Betis in €20 million transfer

Irish striker Troy Parrott has completed a high-profile move to Real Betis from AZ Alkmaar in a deal valued at approximately €20 million. The 24-year-old, a former Tottenham Hotspur academy product, arrives in Spain following a prolific season in the Netherlands where he scored over 30 goals across all competitions, including the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup.

Parrott has made an immediate impact in Spain, scoring on his Champions League debut and netting a decisive goal in his home debut against Real Madrid. On the international stage, he recently scored twice for Ireland in a 2-2 Nations League draw against Austria.

Tottenham Hotspur, who previously sold Parrott to AZ Alkmaar for €8 million, is set to receive a 20 percent sell-on clause from the Real Betis transfer. Statistical data highlights Parrott's physical development, noting he currently leads the UEFA Nations League in duels won this campaign.
