Três Lagoas City Council promotes elderly welfare and new social centers

In Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul, local officials gathered to celebrate World Elderly Day at the Tia Nega Social Assistance Center. During the event, City Council President Tonhão emphasized the importance of public policies for the aging population.

Tonhão proposed that the Executive Branch invest in a new unit of the Center for Strengthening Bonds (Centro de Fortalecimento de Vínculos) to serve more distant neighborhoods. He noted that as the local population ages, there is an increasing demand for government attention regarding health, leisure, and dignity.
