Três Lagoas opens pneumology clinic and hosts Samba de Malandro
The municipality of Três Lagoas expanded its health services by launching a new Pneumology Ambulatory at the UFMS School Clinic. The service began on 7 August, offering four weekly slots for patients with COPD, asthma, recurrent pneumonia, opportunistic pulmonary diseases, tuberculosis and interstitial lung disease. Municipal Health Secretary Juliana Salim said the partnership with the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul aims to reduce wait times and provide more resolutive, humanised care under the SUS system.
A day later, on 8 August, the city hosted the second edition of the free Samba de Malandro festival at the Templo Maria Conga in Jardim Roriz. Organized by the temple and supported by the municipal tourism and culture department, the event featured the Grupo Novo Encontro performing traditional samba. Templo Maria Conga director Verônica Matos emphasized the goal of preserving Brazilian musical heritage and fostering community integration.
