Três Lagoas school expands technical education in AI and Data Science

The Escola Estadual Professor João Magiano Pinto, also known as Jomap, in Três Lagoas is providing professional technical education to students through specialized high school courses. The institution offers Data Science and maintains a Mechatronics program in partnership with Senai. In 2026, the school expanded its curriculum to include Artificial Intelligence.

The impact of these programs is reflected in graduation numbers, which rose from 38 students in 2024 to 73 in 2025. Students such as Rafael Mendes and Yasmim Namie have utilized these courses to transition into higher education and technical roles. Mendes, now 17, focuses on backend development, databases, and automation, while Namie, 19, is currently studying Information Systems at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS).
