Três Lagoas school project distributes entomological collections

The ‘Entomologia nas Escolas’ project is distributing biological collections and educational materials to various schools in Três Lagoas. This initiative, managed by the Entomology sector, aims to provide municipal, state, and private schools, as well as Early Childhood Education Centers (CEIs), with entomological collections for practical classroom use.

The program focuses on teaching students about health, the environment, and the prevention of diseases and accidents related to animals. Key topics include arboviruses, leishmaniasis, scorpions, and the Achatina fulica snail.

In addition to preserved biological specimens, schools receive support booklets and informative folders covering topics such as bats, rodents, pigeons, Chagas disease, and venomous animals. The project seeks to use education as a prevention tool, empowering students to share vital public health information with their families and communities.
