TRT-MG orders compensation for nursing technician dismissed for political reasons

The Third Chamber of the Regional Labor Court of the 3rd Region (TRT-MG) ruled that a nursing technician in northern Minas Gerais must be compensated for discriminatory dismissal. The court determined that the professional, who had worked at a hospital for nearly 22 years, was terminated due to her alleged political affiliation with the local municipal opposition.

While the court upheld the recognition of moral damages, it partially granted an appeal from the healthcare institution to adjust the compensation amount, reducing the indemnity from R$ 20,000 to R$ 15,000. Evidence presented during the process indicated that the dismissal occurred during an administrative intervention in the health unit, where several employees were let go for not supporting the municipal executive.
